ABOUT ME

Inspired by a love of the outdoors I make and sell handmade pottery in fresh organic designs. My contemporary tableware comes in a range of designs and everything is carefully crafted at my studio in Paisley, Scotland. I love making unique ceramics to brighten up the home and add a bit of joy to the small things in every day life.
I make small batches of pottery and take great pride in using traditional skills. Each piece is lovingly crafted using premium quality and responsibly-sourced materials - pieces made to last. My pottery offers an alternative to plastic, mass-manufactured, imported household items. Pottery is another little, but important, step in helping us live a more sustainable life.
As a small business I try to keep my carbon footprint as low as possible by using responsible working practices. One of my favourite parts of pottery is the infinite cycle of clay reclaim, meaning nothing goes to waste. I’m constantly learning, and always striving to reduce the environmental impact of my creative practice. You can read more about my sustainable pottery journey here.
I’ve been a ceramicist for almost 4 years, having discovered pottery through an evening class during my final year at the Glasgow School of Art. During my time at art school, I always felt quite disillusioned by the conceptual art I was surrounded by and struggled to place myself as a maker. From the moment I made my first lop-sided clay pot, I knew I’d found a material I connected with. I found it extremely therapeutic and this inspired me to practice, research and develop my skills. Clay is now my primary medium and its unique qualities and endless possibilities keeps it really interesting to me.
I set up my business in June 2021 after being awarded 18 months of mentorship and start-up funding by the Launch It Trust. I am currently a sole-trader and responsible for every aspect of my business from social media to tax returns! In the future, I hope to set up an open-access Community Hub providing creative opportunities to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
